Don Sommardahl was a man who always helped where ever he could. It did not matter about the persons background or status. He was a very giving and humble man. He left quite a legacy in his son who also helps with the needs of people everywhere he goes.
Don was a wonderful friend and a man that we could count on at the Clinica de Esperanza every month to help with the bills here at the Clinic in Honduras. He believed in the Clinic and the goals we have to help people with their health through the Clinic itself which provides a diagnosis, treatments and medicine at no cost to the poor.
The clinic also provides non traditional healthcare. If a person lives in a ditch or in a room with 10 other people, we build them a house. We provide water filters in villages with contaminated water and half their healthcare problems disappear. We provide food to the hungry and have a program for visiting the elderly in their home where we provide medicine, food and whatever appliances they may need to get around.
Our thanks to Don and everything he did for us here at the Clinica de Esperanza. May he rest in peace.
