We are a Taipei based non-profit organization founded in 1987 that provides vital services to the international community including: counseling, free after hours crisis intervention, cross cultural training, classes & events and publications. All members of the community are welcome at The Center, regardless of race, nationality or religion.
The Community Services Center is a non-profit organization that receives no government funding. The Center receives 50% of its revenue from fee-based programs, like counseling, continuing education, advertising, and 50% from donations generously provided by corporations, civic groups and individuals. The Center's annual budget is in the range of NT$22-26 million.
Giving to The Center will provide us with a much needed reserve to get us through the tough times of slow Taipei summers and protect us from being vulnerable to unforeseen crisis situations (ex. The SARS outbreak in 2003). It will allow us to continue to provide free counseling to those who cannot afford it.
Over the years, the Center has become an imperative part of the Taipei International community, creating a home for all. Today The Center has 13 psychologists on staff who conducted over 5000 counseling sessions and responded to 47 crises last year. Our programs have expanded to include new-comer orientations, cross-cultural training, English publications & information including a monthly magazine (Centered on Taipei), more than 90 classes and tours each year and puts on community loved events.
