Thank you for supporting The Ark on GlobalGiving!
Your support helped The Ark during an extended period of closure due to pandemic restrictions and as we prepared to reopen to live music.
At the end of the summer of 2020, The Ark was closed to in-person patrons and working from home, and these circumstances persisted for another year. During that time of extended closure, your early and generous support helped The Ark work harder than ever to innovate new ways to serve our artists and communities and prepare to re-open in a changed world. At the heart of all our activities has been the primary goal of enriching the human spirit through the presentation, preservation, and encouragement of folk, roots and ethnic music and related arts.
While virtual programming -including an all-virtual Folk Festival In January of 2021 that reached 22 countries -both expanded The Ark's reach and impact, and uncovered new ways to enrich the human spirit through music, The Ark was thrilled to re-open to in-person audiences in August of 2021. As of February of 2022, the music industry is still navigating COVID-related challenges. But The Ark has returned to full capacity in-person audiences and continues to update policies and procedures as needed to stay open and present live music.
The Ark is also committed to exploring the ongoing role of virtual programming and continues to offer livestream access to some shows.
