Our project aims at making available affordable and reliable care locally to children suffering from thalassemia by making use of technology and management. Thereby restore normalcy of their lives while the option of permanent cure for them is realized. We want to ensure last mile delivery at our centres so that every child who comes to the centre gets highest quality of treatment irrespective of the families financial background.
Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder the individuals suffering from which require blood transfusion and disease management for a lifetime. In India, it is estimated that 12,000 children are born with thalassemia each year. 90% of the children with thalassemia die in the absence of scientific management of their medical condition in India. In the developed world thalassemia is a manageable disorder.If proper treatment is provided these children can lead a normal life and live upto 60+ years.
1. Ensure timely & adequate supply of blood components be made available to these children free of cost 2.We have put in place a mechanism to monitor the progress of children & access the compliance of treatment being offered with the international protocols with this it was possible to radically improve the quality of care & management 3. by making available lab tests, access to doctors and medication for all the children collectively, costs can be decreased
1.Restore normalcy of life for the children suffering from thalassemia including return to formal education, good health and wellbeing. 2. Unburden the family by optimizing the delivery of healthcare 3. Ensure that the survival of the children improves over next few years until it matches the best standards in the world.
