Sindh Ajrak organizes blood camps, collects treatment funds, and holds awareness seminars. Imagine a child too weak to play, parents crying in hospital corridors. Every donation, blood or money, replaces fear with laughter, suffering with dreams. These little heroes deserve birthdays, school, and smiles. Your kindness is their miracle. Please don't let them fade away. Join us to save precious futures.
Thalassemia is caused by defective genes that impair hemoglobin production. In Pakistan, over 5,000 children are born annually with the disorder. The main cause is cousin marriages-76.7% in first cousins versus 23.3% in second cousins. Widespread lack of awareness and preventive measures, such as genetic screening, further increase case numbers.
This project solves thalassemia through a dual approach: prevention and treatment. It will establish nationwide premarital genetic screening and awareness campaigns targeting cousin marriages (76.7% of cases). For existing patients, it will fund safe blood transfusions, iron chelation, and bone marrow transplants (80-95% success rate). Future investment in CRISPR gene-editing offers a permanent cure. Education plus advanced care saves lives.
Long-term, this project will eliminate thousands of new thalassemia cases annually by normalizing premarital genetic screening and discouraging high-risk cousin marriages (76.7% of cases). Widespread access to bone marrow transplants (80-95% success) and future CRISPR cures will save existing patients. Pakistan will witness healthier children, reduced family suffering, and lower national healthcare costs for generations.
