The project ValorArte is a theatre play created as part of the Social Inclusion through Art’s Program and involves children and teenagers from the Longchamps households. The themes of friendship, respect and honesty are adressed by using classic fairy tales characters in new context, with the intention of highlighting the importance of values in society. It is a combination of acting, dance routines and recorded video sequences resulting in an interesting theatrical experience.
The project, led by actors Isabel Villaquirán and Felipe Andres, and coordinated by Sonia de la Torre, is the outcome of a year worth of work that included theater classes, text reading and dance rehearsals.
The most important aspect of this project is that it gave the children the joy of being part of an artistic activity, with all the tools used in theatre. Every detail, props, scenery and costume was handmade by the team coordinator, thinking that all girls and boys had a great role to represent...
The enthusiasm and the joy of the children remained at the center of this great project.
The play premiered on the 1st of October, 2017, at the Globe theatre, in the city of Buenos Aires. The premiere was very exciting for everyone involved. Fortunately, the project was supported by many volunteers, who ensured the preparation and running of the show behind the scenes, looking after makeup, costumes, etc. There was also a great technical team that took charge of sound, light and videos. Let’s not forget the fundamental role played by the girls of Longchamps, who put on a beautiful play with enthusiasm and joy. The vintage look of the theatre also collaborated in creating a unique atmosphere.
It was really, a great community project!
