On January 25, 2014 in partnership with HELP OUT Cameroon, we started Marta Perrone Professional Housekeeping and Childcare Training in Tole Village, Cameroon. We started with four participants, hoping to train ten participant in Tole village alone before reaching out to other communities.
This program on housekeeping and childcare with adolescent girls and teenage mothers; is a three month training program to be carried out as followed:
• Two month training in Tole village with theory, tutorials, practical lessons, and video lessons;
• One month internship in a hospitality institution (hotel/child care center).
The program courses include laundry (ironing, washing, cloth folding).career development orientation, housekeeping (decoration, hygiene). Basic childcare, health safety, effective communication, protocol, settling family disputes, nutrition, hotel catering, cookery.
At the end of the training, the participants will sit in for an end of training examination, after which, they will be awarded attestations from Marta Perrone professional Housekeeping, USA.
This will enable the participants look for jobs in hospitality Institutions and or Open their own hospitality businesses to cater for their livelihood and care for their family. Training one participant costs US$ 265.
The training of these future professional Housekeepers, mothers and, leaders of our community is a shared social responsibility; we cannot do it alone without your generous support.
