Executive Summary
The W.TEC Academy is an after-school technology education programme designed to equip secondary school girls in Nigeria with practical STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills. Sponsored by Oracle, the Academy operates across three states: Lagos, Kwara, and Ondo, reaching over 1,793 girls in 28 schools in 2025.
In addition to weekly training sessions, W.TEC celebrated three major international STEM-related days, each designed to deepen engagement and showcase student creativity.

In 2025, the W.TEC Academy was implemented across three states in Nigeria:

Students work on real-world projects that address challenges in their communities, applying their technical knowledge creatively and collaboratively

International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS)
o STEM career talks by female professionals
o Hands-on learning sessions
o Donation of 2 Arduino kits, wireless headsets, and school bags to outstanding students
Girls in ICT Day
o Hackathon focused on community-based solutions
o Students built websites and mobile apps addressing local challenges
o Prizes awarded to the top 3 groups
o All participants received water bottle
Outcome: Enhanced digital creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC)
o Students built a website for an Open Library project
o Winners received mobile phones, bags, and books
o All participants received water bottles
Ondo StateInternational Day of the Girl Child (IDGC)
o Date & Venue:October 8, 2025, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School
o Participants: 60 girls
o Participants: 150 girls across 5 schools
o Winners received head set, bags, and books
o Prizes awarded to the top 3 groups
o All participants received water bottle
Kwara State
o Date & Venue:October 8, 2025, C&S College, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin
o Participants: 55 girls
o Winners received mobile phones, bags, and books
o Date & Venue: April 2025, Ilorin Grammar School
o Participants: 200 girls
Outcome: Enhanced digital creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
o Venue: Offa
o Participants: 40 girls
o Partner: One Innovation Hub in collaboration with Plat Technologies
