Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Supporters,
First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower our team and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving us the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Donors’ contributions have allowed our teams to carry out the mission of improving lives in Bauchi through supporting healthcare initiatives and working to create educational programs for its communities. Leila, Zara, and Ramona have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building connections with our partners in Nigeria to accomplish the goals of preventing and treating Harmful practices issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
Leila, Zara, and Ramona have been working with their project coordinator, Mubarak, to assess the current human rights violations surrounding Harmful practices in the Inkil community. They have had multiple skype calls with their project coordinator to develop a relationship with them as well as go over vital information. Currently, Leila, Zara, and Ramona are working hard to create a community survey that will give them important data surrounding their health issue. They will then use this data to design a community workshop which will be given in the Inkil community in the spring. This workshop will inform the residents of the community about Harmful practices issues and how they can be improved. Now that Leila, Zara, and Ramona are equipped with your support they are moving forward on the path of doing everything they can to raise awareness for Harmful practices issues in Bauchi, Nigeria.
