Leadership Initiatives is committed to improving the infrastructure of communities in sub-Saharan Africa. We are currently working to improve the infrastructure of two communities in northern Nigeria. The development projects in the Tirwun and Madina Quarters communities are a crucial part of improving the lives of citizens. In both communities, we constructed new classrooms and boreholes for water sanitation. These projects are especially important in sub-Saharan Africa, where infrastructure is often lacking and access to clean water is limited.
The construction of new classrooms and boreholes in northern Nigeria will have a direct impact on the quality of life for those living in the region. Not only will it provide access to better education, but it will also provide access to clean drinking water, which can help reduce cases of waterborne illnesses. The classrooms and boreholes will contribute to the overall long-term health goals of the communities to create a healthier population today and in the future.
It is our goal that these projects will have a long-term effect on both the Tirwun and Madina Quarters communities by reducing poverty and providing basic infrastructure that can help improve economic development, education, health, and other social services.
We have been working directly with leaders and community members from the Tirwun and Madina Quarters to select the most pressing issues to address with community development projects. Leaders from both communities believe that these development projects will give them the tools and resources they need to take control of their own development. This can lead to greater self-reliance and sustainability throughout future generations.
Sustainable solutions such as boreholes and education infrastructure will create stronger community relationships, increase trust and cooperation, and improve community well-being. We are committed to being long-term partners with both the Tirwun and Madina Quarters communities.

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Supporters,
First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower our team and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving us the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Donors’ contributions have allowed our teams to carry out the mission of improving lives in Bauchi through supporting healthcare initiatives and working to create educational programs for its communities. Harshita, Seyi, and Vivian have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building connections with our partners in Nigeria to accomplish the goals of preventing and treating Immunizations issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
Harshita, Seyi, and Vivian have been working with their project coordinator, Umar, to assess the current human rights violations surrounding Immunizations in the Guru community. They have had multiple skype calls with their project coordinator to develop a relationship with them as well as go over vital information. Currently, Harshita, Seyi, and Vivian are working hard to create a community survey that will give them important data surrounding their health issue. They will then use this data to design a community workshop which will be given in the Guru community in the spring. This workshop will inform the residents of the community about Immunizations issues and how they can be improved. Now that Harshita, Seyi, and Vivian are equipped with your support they are moving forward on the path of doing everything they can to raise awareness for Immunizations issues in Bauchi, Nigeria.
As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help work on their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments! Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.
On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization.
Wishing you, your family, and your friends the absolute best!
Sincerely,
Marshall Bailly
