Across sub-Saharan Africa, children continue to face preventable health challenges that can affect growth, development, and long-term well-being. In Jitar, Northern Nigeria, Ritika, Harjot, Harman, Lilyana, Madilynn, and Gurkirat are supporting community-led efforts to strengthen child health education and expand access to resources that help children grow and thrive.
In many communities across sub-Saharan Africa, families face barriers to preventive healthcare, reliable health information, and resources that support healthy childhood development. In Northern Nigeria, these challenges can make it harder for parents and caregivers to access the knowledge and support needed to protect children's health and development.
Donations raised by Ritika, Harjot, Harman, Lilyana, Madilynn, and Gurkirat will help strengthen local health resources and support education focused on child health, prevention, nutrition, hygiene, and healthy development. The students will also create a public health campaign based on community priorities, working with local leaders to ensure their education efforts are relevant, practical, and locally guided.
Investing in child health and development can strengthen families and communities for years to come. By expanding access to practical health education and locally guided resources in Jitar, this project supports healthier childhood development while contributing to broader efforts to improve community health in Northern Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.
