Throughout the last two months since our previous GlobalGiving report, our teams in the International Internship Program have continued their work to aid the development and growth of local communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. As we approach the nine-month milestone since the program’s commencement, we are proud to report each program’s current progress in the program.
In the International Business Internship Program, our teams have provided their business partner with a comprehensive advertisement campaign and materials to attract potential customers throughout the local community. Because of the unstable electrical supply in Bauchi, Nigeria, all intern teams were advised to work on physical print media and consider the best course of action to optimally promote their partnered business. These materials covered new signage, brochures, pamphlets, and flyers that would provide insight into the various services businesses conducted and operational hours. With the advertisement campaign underway, our intern teams are now focused on helping their business partner apply for microgrants within Leadership Initiatives to help fund the renovations needed for the store and new equipment their business partner labels as essential upgrades for their current operations.
In the International Advocacy Internship Program and International Public Health Internship, each team has received critical feedback or approval for its campaign proposal. The proposal aims to raise awareness of substantial issues, such as human rights, preventative diseases, and general living conditions. Based on feedback and dialogues with their project coordinator, teams have been revising their campaign and documenting how they wish our Nigerian team to implement their community workshops.
As the International Internship Program nears its conclusion, our interns remain deeply committed to supporting their assigned communities in Northern Nigeria. Their hard work and dedication have been inspiring, and we eagerly anticipate seeing their projects thrive long after the program ends. We would also like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to and supported our teams and organization, helping bring our interns' projects to fruition.
Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!
