Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,

To start off, thank you for your donations! These donations will continue to help enhance communities and create change in Bauchi State, Nigeria. Your support towards our student interns allows them to address major challenges in the community. Without the help of our donors, this would not have been possible. The student interns in our program have learned so much from our partners in Nigeria and have worked hard to create a better life for those in Bauchi. For our business program, each team has gone through the process of bonding with their business partner, learning about their lives, realizing the largest issues facing the business, and developing solutions to these issues. For our advocacy and public health programs, teams have gotten to know their project coordinator, learned all about their issue's history and present status in Nigeria, and developed a campaign to raise awareness for their issue in the community.

Our students in the business, public health, and advocacy programs worked hard throughout the year to improve the lives of those in Bauchi, Nigeria. We are so proud of the student interns for how well they finished the year out. To start off, those in our Business program ended the year by finishing their micro-grant solution proposal and having one final call with their business partner to go over their innovative solution with them. For our Advocacy and Public Health programs, student interns finished off by drafting and finalizing a full community workshop for facilitators to implement on the ground. These community workshops will be used to inform residents of Sabuwar Kasuwa and Gudum Sayawa communities in Bauchi about several advocacy and public health issues. To officially end the year off, these students had a Skype call with their project coordinator where they explained to them exactly how to give the community workshop and what information should be included in it.

While the International Internship Program takes a break this summer, the work that our interns do continues in Washington D.C. on the Georgetown University campus. Here, we are running our Youth Development Programs focusing on medicine and public health, business, law, national security, and neuroscience. Similar to IIP, each of the interns in this program is working to create positive change in the United States and abroad. In the Advanced Medical and Public Health Internship, interns are diagnosing real patients and developing public health campaigns. In the International Leadership and Business Internship, interns are launching a startup with entrepreneurs based in Nigeria and securing a grant for these new businesses. Our Advanced Law and Trial interns are assisting attorneys with court documents, research, and trial preparation. National Security and Intelligence interns are working directly with national security experts to train in the latest intelligence tactics and implement security strategies to save lives. Finally, in the Medical Neuroscience Internship, interns are participating in cutting-edge neuroscience and ethics research. On August 29, 2022, IIP will resume and our interns will return to a virtual format.

As a donor to this project, we are so thankful to have your support as we attempt to create change for those in Bauchi Nigeria. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!

On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

To start off, thank you! Because of your generous donations, we are able to continue giving our interns the opportunity to address local public health issues in Bauchi State, Nigeria. These interns work daily to prevent, provide resources, and eradicate the most threatening public health issues in sub-Saharan Africa. As an organization, our main mission is to improve the lives of those who fall victim to major public health issues in Bauchi. This is supported directly through your donations, which allows us to create awareness campaigns within the local community. Your support of these interns and their hard work is crucial to the success of each team and their fight to raise awareness for their public health issue.

Our interns have been working throughout the spring semester to create a community survey to gain critical insights about their public health issue. This survey was distributed across the Bauchi community and allowed our interns to synthesize and apply their findings toward fighting their public health issue. This will help them gain more understanding of the importance of the work they are doing. After analyzing the results, they have been using the knowledge gained through this survey to create a community workshop that will be used to educate those in the community about their public health issue. This community workshop will be led by their project coordinator and will have interactive activities to help the participants truly understand the message that they are trying to get across.

Throughout the past four months, these interns have had multiple skype calls with their project coordinators where they have had the opportunity to gain information about their public health issue. They have used this data to work to finalize their community workshop proposal before it is reviewed. In addition to working on their campaign, these interns have also continued to develop a strong relationship with their project coordinator.

We are so grateful for your support as we work daily to change lives. We would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could raise awareness for their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!

On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you so much for your support. Without you, we would not be able to constantly work to improve the lives of those in Bauchi. We all truly appreciate your donation and constant support for our organization. Your support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Wishing you, your family, and your friends the absolute best!

Sincerely,

Leadership Initiatives

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Contributions from donors support public health initiatives and create educational campaigns within the local community. The program provides individuals with critical knowledge for the prevention, treatment, and eradication of the most threatening public health issues in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our students work with local NGOs and hospitals in Nigeria to assess and monitor the current public health situation, then design educational campaigns to educate individuals in the community on prevention, risk, and treatment options. Currently, this project will help raise awareness and create community programs to fight Malnutrition in Bauchi.

Interns, Mikaela, Venkata, and Emily, have been working with LI Project Coordinator Rashida to assess Malnutrition in the area. Currently, the team is creating a comprehensive brief outlining their preliminary research of Malnutrition and designing a community survey to understand the thoughts and feelings most affected by the issue. Your encouragement of Mikaela, Venkata, and Emily and their project will truly help change lives across the globe, as fighting public health issues at a grassroots level sparks change across all socioeconomic facets of the community.

As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help work on their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments! Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone’s heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful New Year!

Sincerely,

Leadership Initiatives
