Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,

First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Donors’ contributions have allowed Leadership Initiatives and their students to carry out their mission of improving the lives of victims of human rights abuses and create advocacy and awareness campaigns within the local community. The students in our program have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building connections with our partners in Nigeria to accomplish the goal of fixing the imperative issues that each team is working on.

Our students have been working throughout the fall semester to create and draft a brief specific to their issue. These briefs are the summation of the preliminary research they have done in an effort to gain a proper understanding of their advocacy issues and how they impact communities in Bauchi. Now that our students have completed this intensive research-based report, they are using the knowledge and skills gained to continue their work to transform lives all around Bauchi. Currently, this project will help raise awareness and create community programs to fight the lack of education in Nigeria due to terrorism.

Team 1014 interns have been working with LI Project Coordinator Auwal to assess the current human rights violations surrounding the lack of education in the area. They have had multiple skype calls with their project coordinator to develop a relationship with them as well as go over vital information. Currently, Team 1014 is working hard to raise awareness using social media, conducting surveys abroad to gauge local opinions, and writing a letter to the Nigerian Human Rights Commission. Now that Team 1014 is equipped with your support and a deeper understanding of the poor situation surrounding access to education, they are moving forward on the path of raising awareness to fight it in Bauchi.

As a donator to this project, your support is an amazing thing to have as we attempt to transform lives. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!

On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.

Wishing you the absolute best!

Sincerely,

Team 1014

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

Your donations will empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. This will create a generation of leaders given the platform to encourage progress that starts at the local level but impacts many more. Contributions from donors support victims of human rights abuses and create advocacy and awareness campaigns within the local community. The program provides individuals with essential civic skills and knowledge, building their practical ability to advocate for themselves and others, and enhancing the human rights within their community.

Our students work with local NGOs and government agencies in Nigeria to build human rights education programs, then design educational campaigns to train community leaders and develop teaching materials to carry out advocacy initiatives. Currently, this project will help raise awareness and create community programs to fight [Your Advocacy Issue].

Team 1014 interns have been working with LI Project Coordinator Auwal to assess the current human rights violations surrounding the lack of education due to terrorism in the area. Currently, our team is completing the finals steps in our issue research. Your encouragement of team 1014's interns and their project will truly help change lives across the globe, as fighting human rights issues at a grassroots level sparks change across all socioeconomic facets of the community.

As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help fight their human rights issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments! Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone's heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.

Wishing you, your family, and your friends the absolute best!

Sincerely,

The Westview High School IIP Team
