Thanks to your support, PCI Media's programs use powerful storytelling that creates positive, lasting change around the world.
With your help, our programs led to fewer COVID-19 infections, fewer cases of malnutrition and gender-based violence, and more individuals and communities making decisions that preserve food systems and the environment.
From Mozambique to Somalia to Central America, PCI’s programs use an audience-based approach that leads to positive change.
In Mozambique, after our radio program Ouro Negro aired during the COVID-19 pandemic, all listeners said they learned from the radio program how to stay healthy and 90% said that the radio shows helped them to change their behavior.
“The radio drama changed my life… I received important COVID-19 text messages thanks to the show and forwarded them to my friends and family. The messages helped me, my family, and friends, learn preventative behaviors…”
-Lázaro*, 26 years old, Mozambique
In Somalia, we’re creating media to prevent malnutrition in Baidoa and Mogadishu. More than 72% of participants reported a better understanding of the different areas of nutrition and hygiene that were shared in the program.
In Central America, ‘Con los pies en la tierra’ (With Our Feet in the Soil), a radio drama that promotes sustainable farming practices, resulted in 95% of listeners learning something new from the radio program and 85% of surveyed listeners adopting sustainable farming practices.
In all our programs, our evidence-based approach ensures powerful stories lead to lasting change. By surveying radio listeners and audience members, we collect evidence of program successes to ensure that the stories resonate with the intended audience.
Because of you, people around the world hear impactful stories that empower and equip them to live healthier lives. Thank you for supporting our work to create a healthier, more sustainable and just world.
