Dear friends,
I would like to start by thanking you for the continued support for Team Heart. We had a fantastic year, with lots of accomplishments, including the echocardiography training workshop. What exciting times! The time is fast approaching as the team embarks on another surgical trip. We have the screening team scheduled to start around the 19th of February and the surgeries will actually take place sometimes around the 26th of February. As you see, we have several teams working hard to make this happen and we are very grateful for all of them. This effort will impact another group of people from Rwanda who suffer of rheumatic heart disease and are in desperate need for surgical interventions.
During this trip, we also plan to further our efforts for skill and knowledge transfer by providing nursing education to a group of nurses who are eager to acquire new knowledge related to cardiac surgery, and heart failure management. This will help us have a uniquely specialized workforce as we continue to work on opening a clinic for those patients who are unable to access the M-F clinics. We are dedicated to make a lasting impact on the people suffering of rheumatic heart disease, and improve the lives of the Rwanda citizens. Lastly but not least, we continue to raise funds to build a cardiac center of excellence, which will be the only center providing specialized care in the region.
Please continue to support our efforts and share with your friends and families about our hard work and dedication to serve those who suffer of rheumatic heart disease.
