A graduation of Football and Education Skills

By Enouce Ndeche | Project Director

Even as form four students from NPC High school are on the tail end of graduating from high school in the next few days joining thousands of other form four students across the nation, Double club program graduation came in handy as a pricasa of their graduation from the Kenya certificate of secondary examination (KCSE).Over 40 students from NPC High school had an opportunity to improve their football skills and English literacy through Double club program which aims to inspire and motivate pupils at primary and secondary level using football as a hook to instill education and show pupils learning can be achievable, rewarding and fun. All Double club graduates received certificates signed by Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger.”My football skills and English literacy levels have improved a lot. The English language and literacy part of Double Club program assisted me so well even in my KCSE English papers that I have just done.”Said 17 years old Wilfred Kamanja. “Double Club program has really improved football and English skills of NPC students. Gone are the days when people thought that being a footballer makes you an academic dwarf.” Said Mr. Patrick Lungashi a teacher at NPC.
