A group of students aged 15-18 years both boys and girls from Vijana Amani Pamoja (VAP) who are in secondary schools will be given an opportunity to join an onlline program provided by Yale University dubbed 'Yale Young African Scholaers' (YYAS).YYAS program which is scheduled to start in July next year 2022 is a cost-free academic enrichment and leadership program designed for African secondary school students who plan to pursue tertiary education and wish to make a meaningful impact as young leaders.
VAP participants have been consistent in community programs that are using football for education and lifeskills and this opportunity will horn their skills both on and off the field.Majority of the participants have been doing excellent work in their academic work in their respective schools and this kind of an opportunity is a great path towards achieving their dreams.
This opportunity was made during a parents and students meeting held at VAP offices where a total of 10 students who are in secondary schools attained the qualifications to attend the online program where they will joing other students from across Africa under the auspices of Yale Young African Scholars.
"This is a great opportunity for my future career.Am looking forward to learn more on career path,preparations of joining university and moreover developing myself as an individual".Said 16 years old Marim from Kariobangi south secondary school.
