Dear Friends of APF and Fondwa,
On behalf of the APF Teaching Trades Professional School, I want to thank you for the support you have given to our project this year. You made a big difference in the lives of youth in Fondwa. However, the difficulties in Haiti continue to escalate, and the insecurity in the capital does indeed impact our rural community.
Many people have fled Port-au-Prince to return to Fondwa to live with family and escape the violence. This is putting an increased strain on many of the projects we hoped to move forward.
So, we need to postpone the Teaching Trades Professional School activities for now. Here in Fondwa, it is "all hands on deck" to produce food for the primary/secondary school (which has increased attendance) and for the community.
We appreciate your understanding and patience. Please know the funds you contibuted enabled youth to learn sewing skills, a trade that will improve their futures. In better times, we may hopefully be able to return to these activities.
Gratefully,
The APF Teaching Trades Professional School staff
