Nigerian Toddlers Need Early Protection From Abuse

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you for your interest in the Teaching Toddlers Safe & Unsafe Body Touch via Art project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned child protection and art education activities have not yet begun.

Many toddlers across Nigeria continue to grow up without basic understanding of safe and unsafe body touch. Because body safety education is rarely discussed openly in many homes and schools, young children often do not know how to express discomfort, report abuse, or ask trusted adults for help when something feels wrong.

Without early child protection education, many children remain vulnerable to abuse in places where they should feel safe, including homes, schools, and community environments.

This project is designed to use storytelling, drawing, role-playing, and child-friendly art activities to teach 2,500 toddlers about body safety, personal boundaries, and how to speak up when they feel unsafe. Teachers and caregivers will also be engaged to help strengthen child protection awareness beyond the classroom sessions.

With the right support, more children can gain confidence, learn healthy personal boundaries early, and become better protected from abuse and harmful situations.

We remain hopeful that support will come so this important child safety and early education project can begin and reach vulnerable children across participating communities in Nigeria.

Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
