It's been another impactful year for Shivia thanks to the generous support of donors like you.
We have compiled a short video highlighting some of the year's milestones which you can watch on our YouTube channel here.
You will see that our agriculture programme continues to support marginalised farmers in India, enabling them to turn small plots of land into a profitable farming enterprise. The photos are of Haradhan and his family in Prantik, West Bengal. Despite being one of our newest farmers, he is already witnessing the benefits of the training programme and the planting techniques our field team has shown him. He has developed a really productive kitchen garden, growing a variety of vegetables to feed his family. Also, the yield from his larger field had increased allowing him to earn a moderate income at the local market. He's very pleased with these early successes and has confidence that farming will provide a sustainable livelihood going forward.
As the new year approaches, we are looking forward to helping many more farmers like Haradhan move towards organic farming and allow them to derive a decent income from agriculture.
