This project will give children worldwide the various tools, support, motivation and rewards necessary to become responsible, knowledgeable and caring world citizens. It will provide resources for children and families of every country of the world to better understand and serve their counterparts internationally, fostering world-class citizenship through five central programs: Community-Building, Cultural Exchange, Service to Others, Personal Excellence and Environmental Stewardship.
There are over 20 military conflicts occurring around the world today. Inside those conflicts, there is a staggering amount of child impacts in those wars. Our world is challenged by a lack of understanding of one another, and thereby, a lack of love. Children bear the brunt of hate, from being forced into conflicts as soldiers to losing precious family members. Children hold the seeds of change within them. Teaching them to understand and love one another is imperative to bettering our world.
This project will help children to develop a strong sense of understanding and appreciate for people and cultures different from their own. Through an intensive cross-cultural learning program of sustained engagement and learning between families across the globe, this program will help various children and their families to develop a global mindset. It will give them the necessary support to develop a sense of global responsibility and an attitude of peacemaking and sharing.
Various children of differing backgrounds will be afforded the ability to "walk a mile in another's shoes" through their participation in this project. Long-term effects will be more service-oriented youth (a counter-balance to the "me" generation); stronger, better served communities; better educated and knowledgeable citizenry; a healthier, better cared-for environment; and eventually, perhaps a lesser amount of violent crime and military conflicts in the world.
