Hello everyone, how are you?

It is a pleasure and a privilege to greet you, I am very happy to start another year and to continue working for our project Let's be Ready. Thank you for continuing to support us, we know that the situation worldwide has become very difficult; however, there are always people like you, with a big heart to continue changing the future of our children.

As we do every year, we organized a one-week workshop to train our teachers and give them new ideas or reminders to start the school year. We had two guest speakers with very important topics and the teachers shared very good ideas for working with unattractive books. Also, we remembered topics such as LEARNING CORNERS: Music and Movement, Sand and Water, and Discoveries/Science. In addition, we remembered the importance of continuing to develop Critical Thinking in our children and Logical Thinking ideas.

One of the guests was Kathy, who works as a trainer, giving support topics in the professional area and for daily life. She talked to us about "Strategic Thinking", which made us think about the importance of taking the time to make a good plan and take into account the possible obstacles that we might encounter along the way. I think this topic will help us a lot in our work with the children as well as in our practical life; to have a better control of what we do.

We also invited a psychologist to talk to us about the different types of "ABUSE" that our children may suffer and how to act if a difficult situation arises on the subject. She also reminded us of the laws that we have in our country to take into account, and the organizations to which we should turn to so that they can take care of the case. Although none of our schools have ever had a case of abuse, I think we should be prepared to know what to do if it ever happens.

In summary, all of our teachers made very good comments on the topics and activities conducted during the workshop. They also showed a good presentation of the topics they taught.

Unfortunately, this year we lost the support of some of our donors; therefore, we have 4 schools that need your contributions to continue supporting the children in your community. Therefore, we appeal to your big heart, so that you continue to make your donations. Thank you very much to those who already do it, we are sure you will be rewarded for the unconditional help you always give us.

For our next report, I hope to have more details about the start of classes and the different activities that our teachers are doing with their children. Once again, thank you for helping us to change the future of our children.

Greetings from Guatemala...
