E’s Journey: Rediscovering Hope in Life

E. attended primary school but was forced to leave secondary school when her guardian—who had taken her in after her mother passed away—could no longer afford school supplies. Today, E. is rebuilding her future through Neema’s permaculture and agribusiness training program, where she is gaining practical, marketable skills rooted in sustainability and self-reliance. In December, E. successfully completed her entry-level national certification, marking a significant milestone in her educational journey. She will continue her studies at Neema, deepening her knowledge of food production, land stewardship, and small-scale agribusiness as she prepares for long-term economic independence. Reflecting on this opportunity, E. shares, “Neema is helping my dreams come true, and the lost hope is being restored. Most of the things I am receiving at Neema I never thought I would have in my life. I’ve been able to have a second family that loves me and wishes me well. Above all, I am gaining a skill that will help me throughout my life.” You can help make stories like E.’s possible by supporting Elizabeth’s Journey: Rediscovering Hope in Life—your partnership directly sustains training, certification, and ongoing learning for young women building new futures at Neema.
