Impact of teaching Permaculture in rural Kenya

By Gaelle Beltran-Gremaud | Executive Director

Teaching permaculture to student's guardians

We have introduced permaculture workshops to our students and their guardians, held on the first Friday of every month. These sessions highlight the benefits of sustainable farming practices through permaculture. Although it is still early to measure the full impact of these workshops, initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, as captured by one participant's enthusiastic response. With an average of 35 participants per session, we are encouraged by the growing interest. With additional funding, we hope to expand the program and offer more frequent workshops to reach even more families.

"The permaculture lessons have also helped me and saved me a huge deal of money since I no longer buy fertilizers, I make use of the local plants and animal waste to make my farm productive.'' Mother of a First Year student
