A COUNTRY IN SADNESS
This period has coincided with the tragic earthquake that struck many areas of the country, leaving desolation and death in its wake. The overwhelming response of the Colombian people, helping thousands of victims with donations of money and food, is a social lesson that we have been working on with children in our project. Solidarity and compassion are fundamental virtues if we want to build a new society. We cannot speak of a new society if, in our daily lives, we continue to be guided by the law of the strongest and despise the weak, those who suffer sadness and need.
We need compassionate children, sowers of hope and new life, so that future generations can enjoy respect for their rights, justice, and true peace.
