This past academic year, 29 of our teaching fellows taught in 18 schools across rural communities in Kyiv, Odesa, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, reaching over 5,500 children. With your support, they brought structure, care, and encouragement into classrooms where they were needed most.
Alongside teaching, fellows helped students launch 20 youth-led projects. These included school museums, cultural spaces, student councils, and a zine capturing students’ experiences of war. Each initiative became a way for students to process, connect, and take ownership of their learning.
We also put a lot of care into supporting the fellows themselves. Through 600 hours of mentorship, 120 hours of training, and regular space for honest reflection, we tried to meet their needs as educators and people. One fellow shared: “Meetings with a mentor are my safe space to reflect on everything that is happening.”
You’ll find more photos and voices from students and fellows in the attached short report. Thank you for being part of this journey.
