Family wellbeing Centre aims to improve wellbeing of children families & societies to live freely from alcohol, tobacco & other drugs in early stage by addressing determinant factors at the grassroot level through social and behaviour change approach. We improve their capacities to stop ATOD use which enable them towards a Drug-free Society in Sri Lanka.
Alcohol, tobacco and other drugs use is major obstacle for improving wellbeing of children in families of rural areas. they face wide range of challenge such as abuse and neglect, instability, poverty and economic hardship, child labour and exploitation, bullying and social exclusion, health care, malnutrition, right education and security, exploitation sexual violence, corporal punishment and discrimination due to substance use that need to address in given populations of Sri Lanka.
FWC addresses these factors through effective SBC approach to protect the rights for every child to live, learn, play and grow up healthy and safe environment. FWC improves wellbeing of children and families to live freely from alcohol, tobacco and other drugs use from early stage by addressing determinant factors at selected villages and schools by providing effective awaereness sessions, supporting mobilization supports, capacity building training for community actors and family counselling.
We will mobilize, build capacities and enable children club members and families for sustainable life winning goals and positive impacts on wellbeing of families by engaging prevention activities in their areas. We will empower community champions for addressing negative impact of drug use at community level. We will educate community actors & CSO's allowing them to raise out for advacating policy change perspectives on reducing ATOD use. this project will increase positive impacts on wellbeing.
