Working with Families: Promoting Dialogue on Alcohol-Free Spaces at Selected two Villages in Anuradhapura District
As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen community wellbeing, we initiated a program focused on encouraging open family dialogues around the creation and preservation of alcohol-free spaces. This initiative was implemented in selected Two (Transforming Women's Communities) villages within the Anuradhapura District.
In celebration of Alcohol-Free Day, the Family Wellbeing Centre hosted a series of events under the theme: “Family Time Liberated from Alcohol.”
These celebrations emphasized the importance of alcohol-free environments in fostering stronger, healthier family bonds. Through interactive sessions, storytelling, and community discussions, families were empowered to reflect on the positive impacts of reducing alcohol use and to commit to nurturing safer, more supportive home environments.
