Children and Youths in Bukerere- Mukono district in Uganda are missing out updated educational literature and information for academic and economic research for growth. This is due to lack of access to library services in the area like Text/Reading books, Digital tools and connections. So we want to setup a community Library/Computer Lab to support children and youths in research and information gathering for easy access hence their academic excellency and social- economic growth and networking
Bukerere has few schools supporting education but less facilitated with needed academic and research tools needed for excellency. The area currently has no public facility with upto date reading materials and digital connections for the vulnerable children and youths to academically and economically do needed research for academic excellency and economic connections. This makes a number of these children and youths lag behind in information gathering hence their poor performances at all levels.
Setting up a community library, fully equipped with both curriculum, story books, computers connected to internet and placed in the community for easy access will attract more youths and school going children to read and learn, youths using computers for economic research and become creative given the library services in the community. This will lead to increase in academic excellency of the learners in the local schools and youths connection globally for both social and economic opportunities
Over 85% of the community children and youths will be able to read, use digital devices for research and highly motivated to read for both academic excellency, economic opportunities and in various aspects of life. Increased literacy among the children and youths, reduced disorder and burden to lack of reference books to teachers in community schools on the literacy. In short majority of the children will be able to read and comprehend information gathered from the community library Growth.
