Subject : Big impact to Take part to support street Children

Since the creation of the project to support children in Burundi

• we received a sum of 285 doolars, an amount that we share with street children, in April we received a number of 14 young people who live in the street and we gave them a little support like those who were hated; has food,We would like to have a large sum to finally make a small accommodation for them because the situation for them is not feasible for a human being

1. Problem

• We would like to have a large sum to finally make a small accommodation for them because the situation for them is not feasible for a human being.
• Street children often suffer from depression, anxiety and trauma, which can then lead to substance abuse and risk of suicide. The stigma and social exclusion faced by street children has a negative impact on their mental well-being.

2. THE ORIENTATIONS OF THE SAVE LIFE MAKE DIFFERENCE ASSOCIATION

The care of street children is part of a broad context of the protection of rights
children recognized at the international level through texts and conventions to which
HELPER OF SAVE LIFE MAKE DIFFERENCE  can join and seek to translate this into concrete terms. Burundi has already done
certain actions taking into account its socio-political and economic evolution.

During the recent period and as a continuation of these actions, legal texts have been developed
and adopted with the aim of better protection of children in general and street children in
particular. The following guidance documents include:

Our limited budget compared to needs;
 The extreme poverty of the families of origin;
 Adults on the street who have no one to take care of them (they remain children of the
Street) ;
At the time of reintegration, there are leaks into the street because of poor
habits contracted;
 Reintegration into the family of origin comes up against the economic conditions of the family
(state of impoverishment);
The instability of children;
 Low level of collaboration from the administration;
Cases of repeat child offenders;
Difficulties in creating links with street children;
Difficulty in reintegrating the category of children for whom the street is a refuge or an identity;
Some irresponsible parents who consider the street as a source of income and
refuse to initiate income-generating activities;
