Winter and summer holidays are supposed to be the most exciting times of the year for children. However, there are a group of children who dislike this time of the year. The Child Welfare League Foundation conducted a survey of disadvantaged families and found that 50% of children from these families had a difficult time eating proper meals during the long holidays.

The Foundation's holiday nutrition subsidy program was launched in 2010. With the support of the Foundation over the years and the concerted efforts of corporations and the general public, 21,571 nutritional supplies have been distributed during the long holidays in the past 8 years, and 735 schools were sponsored to host 876 sessions of holiday camping activity, which were participated by more than 23,000 children.
