Dear supporters,
Many thanks for your donation to the Somali refugee community of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The funds raised will be transfered to the community leaders for them to continue the woman tailoring project they were able to launch thanks to donations from local sources. Indeed, the funds raised on Global Giving were insufficient to create the activity and the community leaders were able to attract other resources in order to launch their project. This is a brillant confirmation of the efficiency of the trainings we delivered to them on fundraising strategy.
Your donations will thus complement their effort and enable them to carry on their support for women to generate income - and for this we thank you a lot.
All the best
The URBAN REFUGEES team.
The Urban Refugees team is looking forward to working with the Somali refugee women on this training. The launch of the project is on a temporary hold until we raise the necessary funds. Once we raise the funds necessary, the Somali refugee women will be able to purchase equipment and learn sewing, which will enable them to make clothing for themselves and their families, and also to sell the garments they make to help sustain themselves and their families financially as they re-build their lives in Malaysia. We thank all the donors who already contributed to this project. Please do not hesitate to share it within your friends and family so we can make it a reality.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
