Isn’t the Painted Bunting a beautiful bird? For its beautiful plumage and melodious song, like many other songbirds, it pays a dear price, ending up in cages for human enjoyment. It is among the songbirds trapped in the wild to meet the demand in other parts of the world, including the EU.
The project hasn’t kicked off yet due to our modest fundraising start, but we are have begun strategising, and as soon as we raise at least one third of our project goal, we will begin! Thank you for your support.
We can’t wait to start, because while the world is plagued with many a crisis, from pandemics to wars, the illegal trade in wild songbirds continues – and we aim to ultimately eliminate the illegal and unsustainable trade in native North American songbirds in the EU.

Thank you.
