Noble Gift is one of the most recognizable social program in Poland. Our premise is the idea of providing direct aid so that, it is meaningful, but also gives an impulse of change. Only last year, the program helped over 14 000 families in 600 locations. This project will enable us developing the Gift so that, it reaches people at risk of exclusion in new locations. They will be provided with much-needed material help as well as mental support to take responsibility for their lives again.
1,5 million Poles live in extreme poverty or life-threatening conditions. There are 8 groups of socially excluded people whom we deliver help to, e.g., independent parents, families with many children, the disabled, seniors, those affected by the pandemic of COVID-19 and more. Poverty has many faces and with help of volunteers around the Poland we try to bring help to thousands of people every year. We also aim to reach new locations and help those who no one has ever been able to help before.
Our volunteers look for vulnerable families affected by poverty, loneliness. They visit them and get to know their story, find about living conditions and needs. After that, the decision whether to include the family in the program is made. A month before Christmas, the information about the family is placed in an anonymous internet database, allowing the donors to select a particular family and prepare a Christmas gift directly for them. The families also get further specialized help if needed.
Throughout the years, the total value of help we have provided to people in need exceeds 436 million PLN. Only in 2020, an average value of a gift prepared for one family was 3 640 PLN. In 2020, the Noble Gift connected exactly 421 390 people, which seems impressive, especially considering the ongoing pandemic. The specific help reached 14 016 families. Every year we develop the program so that, people from even more excluded places can get the help they need to get back on their feet.
