The funds for the 1st year of the project were obtained by donations through GlobalGiving (40%) and completed by Norflor, a company in the forestry sector (30%) and Fundação Banco do Brasil (Brazilian bank foundation - 30%). We are very thankful for our incredible donors and supporters.
In February, we started applying two projects in two municipalities in the Jequitinhonha region, in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil: TAG (computerized school management system) and Synapse (literacy).
In the first work meeting, the IPTI team introduced the project to teachers and coordinators of these municipalities' schools: Josenópolis and Padre Carvalho. IPTI was very well accepted, and the partnership started immediately.
We have a massive opportunity for teachers from these two municipalities to act as multipliers in other cities in the region.
At the beginning of March, IPTI project managers started the sensibilization with 45 professionals of the Jequitinhonha region. It was an online seminar, and the professionals were very participative, showing interest in the methodology. They don't have an school management software, and they were impressed with TAG (school management software developed by IPTI).
This first part of the project will consist of six training sessions for both municipalities' professionals, finishing in November 2021.
We'll keep you posted with more information soon.
