Syejumba Outreach Post serves a population of 8000 people. However, there is no water, no proper building, no staff, no medical equipment and no toilets. This means the community are forced to walk 16kms to the nearest Health Post to receive treatment when they are unwell. We would like to upgrade Syejumba from an Outreach Post to a Health Post and provide the community with proper medical care.
Currently Syejumba is an Outreach Post which serves a population of 8000 people. There is no properly facility in place and the community have to walk 16km to the nearest Health Post to receive treatments. The Outreach Post only receives outreach services once per month which are usually focuses on maternal and child health. All emergencies have to go to the Health Post.
By implementing: Solar Power Clean, reticulated water A new facility building Flushable toilets with proper hand-washing facilities Conducting training with community structures on health promotion topics. Implementing proper Infection Prevention Controls This will help to bring Syejumba up to the Zambian National Standards for a Health Post and help to support the population in this area and to ensure the community receive improved access to and quality of care.
