Happy Autumn, Global Givers!
Another summer has come and gone and the members of GlobeMed at Cornell are thrilled to be back on campus. With classes gearing up, and ClubFest on the horizon, the members of GlobeMed are thrilled to meet new members and to jump back into action led this years co-presidents, Diana Litsas and Alexandra Burton.
This year was a big success, thanks to your support. In total we raised $7,000 which was sent to AMMID this summer. In addition our GROW team had a successful experience in Comitancillo, Guatemala installing this year's round of water filters and analyzing the success of previous year's installations.
This year's GROW team consisted of Rie Seu, Irene Liu and Julia Schaffer. In addition to installing after filters within the communities, they also went door to door asking the community members about the logistics of their water filters. Overall feedback was positive! They reported back that families were happy about having the ability to drink cold water and that those families also observed a reduction in illness within their households.
With such a successful last academic year and summer- we are looking forward to continue working together with AMMID- and with you, to pursue our goals. Once again, thank you for your continued support- none of our past and present goals would be accomplished without you.
Lots of GlobeMed Love!
