Another Hope Children's Ministries would like to reduce vulnerability and dependency among the young people by 20% in 5 Districts of Central Uganda (Kampala, Mpigi, Wakiso, Mityana and Mubende) through vocational skills training. This project will benefit 12,000 Youth in the 5 Districts of Central Uganda hence reducing the unemployment rate among the youth and increasing the number of youth joining Vocational schools rather than Degree courses that have no ready jobs.
The Ugandan Economy needs trained workers to sustain and expand its industries and contribute to economic growth as a whole. This is a prime requirement for the reduction of poverty and the hope of a better future. Unfortunately, there are not enough appropriate opportunities for Ugandan youth to learn vocational skills. Education is one of the long lasting poverty alleviating strategies. There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that spending time in school is an effective strategy.
