The visionary of this project is to integrate the children and the teachers of four different preschools in Concon, Chile, into the environmental education to promote the participation of sustainable agriculture and lifestyle. This will proceed within time scheduled workshops with practical activities, such as the teaching of the native flora and fauna of Chile, preparation of grow boxes and cultivation in greenhouses and sustainable farming of vegetables.
The final solution of the challenge concerning climate change and sustainability will be to integrate our children, to establish general knowledge about the problem and increase their mental and physical health. Through educational practical lessons and activities that involve general ecology, morphology of plants, life cycles of plants etc., children participating in our projects will receive a deeper understanding and tools to manage the future of sustainability.
Approximately 290 children and 60 educators within the sector of preschools in Concon, who are partaking in this project, will be educated in environmental awareness. What we hope about the outcome, is that the workshops will shine a light onto changes that our world is facing regarding climate, agriculture and ecosystems, and that our youths will be our future educators and role models within a sustainable lifestyle.
