This project helps The Freedom Theatre in Jenin sustain its artistic and cultural work under extreme political and economic pressure. Support will fund staff salaries, rent, multimedia development, and the continued creation of performances including Pulse Before Birth, helping the theatre remain active and reach communities across Palestine.
Palestinian communities in Jenin are living through repeated military incursions, displacement, and the loss of safe public space. The Freedom Theatre continues working from temporary conditions while its main space remains damaged and inaccessible, yet it still provides theatre, multimedia, and creative programs for children, youth, women, and wider audiences. Without core support, this vital cultural and community space risks losing continuity when it is needed most.
This project will help The Freedom Theatre sustain salaries, rent, multimedia production, and artistic work while operating from temporary spaces after the destruction and displacement in Jenin Camp. It will keep safe cultural activities alive, strengthen digital storytelling, and further develop touring work such as Pulse Before Birth, ensuring continued access to creative expression, community connection, and Palestinian cultural presence.
This project will help The Freedom Theatre remain a stable cultural anchor for Jenin's displaced community while rebuilding its artistic and digital capacity. It will retain skilled staff, strengthen multimedia production, expand touring work such as Pulse Before Birth, and protect a lasting Palestinian cultural presence for children, youth, and wider audiences in Jenin and beyond.
