CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS DAY IN TEARS - SADNESS - WITHOUT SHESLTER On December 22, 2019 -- At least 15 persons died including children, over 30 others were injured and hundreds of homes destroyed at a neighborhood in Burundi's commercial capital Bujumbura, flooding caused by Saturday night's heavy rains. The location that has been more destroyed and affected by the torrential floods is called "Winterekwa". Today in this location and surrounding areas there are tears and sadness of survivors
Heavy rains caused the flooding of a small river called Cari that deviated from its bed, invading houses of residents at Winterekwa and surrounding areas. The river deviated from its bed because of debris and tree trunks that were brought by the river waters from uphill said the survivors of the location and surrounding areas.
Providing shelters, food, sleeping and kitchen materials to the survivors of the Saturday, December 22, 2019 that have left at 14 people dead and hundreds of houses destroyed at Winterekwa location and surrounding areas of Bujumbura, Capital City is very urgent. The project will help 57 families - survivors of the torrential rains to rebuild 57 houses, provide food, sleeping and kitchen materials to 100 families. A home is one of the most important things that contribute to good living.
The survivors will have their homes where they can live with their families and avoid expansion AIDS and Transmissible illness.
