PAN helps over 26,000 vulnerable people living in the most remote rural areas of Colombia overcome adversity each year. By collaborating with those who are committed to making a difference, PAN aims to enhance its programs for children and their families. Through education, nutritional support, and healthcare, PAN works towards improving their quality of life, while also empowering them to make positive changes in their communities over the long term.
Colombia is one of the most unequal countries and this has a severe impact on the protection of children's rights. In 2022, 560,000 children under the age of 5 suffered from chronic malnutrition and 300 died due to related causes. Additionally, 5,049,813 young people under 25 do not have access to education. These alarming statistics are contributing factors to the growing prevalence of mistreatment, sexual abuse, domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, child labor and street children.
From PAN, we will continue transforming lives by providing 70% of the daily food to more children through nutrition assistance delivered in remote rural areas and care centers. We will train more professionals to work closely with the families, developing effective health promotion and prevention strategies. We will reach more remote areas to provide guidance and support tailored to the specific needs of each community through strategic alliances and psychosocial processes based on their needs.
Your donation will play a critical role in our work to enhance the lives of the 26,000 beneficiaries of our programs, and thus contribute to reducing inequality and the rates of malnutrition, neglect, sexual abuse, domestic violence, alcohol or drug abuse, child labor, among other forms of vulnerability in Colombia. Strengthening families is vital in the construction of a more just and supportive society.
