Nordic SOS Ukraine – Progress Report

Reporting Period: June–August 2026

During June, July, and August 2026, Nordic SOS Ukraine continued its efforts to collect and coordinate humanitarian aid for people affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Throughout the reporting period, we received donations of clothing, household items, and other essential supplies from individuals and supporters in our local community.

Cooperation and Support in June and July

During the summer, we strengthened our cooperation with other volunteer organizations working to support Ukraine.

We would especially like to recognize Norsk Ukrainsk Støtteforening Trident for their impressive and dedicated work. On July 3, we helped collect three full carloads of brand-new workwear that had been donated for Ukraine.

Trident also operates a sewing workshop in Ålgård, Norway, where Ukrainian refugees are given an opportunity to take part in meaningful work while also becoming part of an important social community. At the workshop, they produce evacuation stretchers for use in Ukraine.

These stretchers are lightweight and easy to transport, making them particularly useful when wounded people need to be evacuated quickly from dangerous areas. This is practical humanitarian support that can contribute directly to saving lives.

At the end of July, Nordic SOS Ukraine also delivered donated clothing and other essential equipment to Ukrainahjelpen at Klippen Sandnes, one of the organizations we cooperate with to ensure that donated goods are transported onwards to people in need in Ukraine.

Continued Collection During August

Throughout August, we continued collecting humanitarian donations from several different donors. The response from our supporters remained very positive, and we received a wide variety of useful items.

Among the donations collected were clothing, children's car seats, bed linen, blankets, and other practical supplies. These are items that can provide both practical assistance and comfort to families and individuals living under extremely difficult circumstances.

The donations collected during August were sorted and prepared for onward transportation. A full carload was delivered to Ukrainahjelpen at Klippen Sandnes on September 2, shortly after the end of this reporting period, for further transport to Ukraine.

Community Support Makes the Work Possible

Our work depends heavily on the generosity of individuals who donate clothing, equipment, money, and their time. Every bag, box, and individual item contributes to the larger humanitarian effort.

Transporting humanitarian aid from Norway to Ukraine involves significant costs. Nordic SOS Ukraine therefore also continues to raise funds to help cover transportation expenses and, when necessary, the purchase of essential goods that are specifically needed.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our work during these three months. The continued willingness of people in our community to contribute demonstrates that, even after several years of war, there remains a strong commitment to helping the people of Ukraine.

Looking Ahead

Nordic SOS Ukraine will continue collecting useful clothing, equipment, and other humanitarian supplies and working with trusted partner organizations to ensure that the aid reaches Ukraine.

Our focus remains practical: to collect what is needed, cooperate with organizations that can transport and distribute the aid, and make the best possible use of the resources entrusted to us.

Every contribution matters, and together with our donors, volunteers, and partner organizations, we will continue working to provide meaningful support to people affected by the war in Ukraine.

Your support keeps the help moving – every donation makes a difference in Ukraine.
