Our little Martin is still having lots of fun now that his enclosure is filled with high grass. However, it’s getting dryer and dryer every day so soon he won’t be able to hide in there anymore.
Every morning he greets our children and volunteers when they go by his enclosure for their daily dog walk. He loves waiting for them by the fence and watching them all go by. And if they’re lucky he even runs to the other side to greet them a second time when they walk past!
Did you know that a cheetah’s tail is more than half as long as the rest of its body? Their body can grow to up to 1.5m long while the tail can have a length of up to 80cm. Another fun fact is that the cheetah is the biggest cat that can actually purr. Lions and leopards do not have the ability to purr, but cheetahs do. Although Martin doesn’t let us come close enough to give him belly rubs :D
