SDFA volunteers and project cordinator have initiated community engagement activities in Kakamgea county. In May 2016, our staff and volunteers held meetings with some 5 church leaders, and 10 women group leaders where the project objectives were discussed. During the meeting, the church leaders and women leaders agreed to hold sensitization metings with their members and also reach out to other community leaders in their respective areas.
It was agreed during the meeting that efforts will be made by SDFA staff to engage with local county government in seeking financial and logistical (in kind ) support for the project.
The next phase of communuty sensitzation activities were discussed and include meetings with youths and women drawn from 5 villages within the county. From the meetings, and the feedback from the community leaders, SDFA shall settle on the potential villages where the project will be implimented when moe funds are raised.
