Kenya's rural counties face a rising NCD crisis, with limited screening, low public awareness, and under-resourced health systems. Community Health Promoters lack the tools and training to respond effectively. This project will convene a stakeholders forum bringing together CHPs, NCD coordinators, and county officials to strengthen local action using ActioNCD's proven digital solutions (www.actionncd.org). Urgent support is needed to scale this life-saving effort.
Rural counties in Kenya face a growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. Limited screening tools, low public awareness, and undertrained frontline workers hinder early detection and care. Community Health Promoters lack the resources to respond effectively, while county health systems struggle to coordinate data and action. Urgent support is needed to strengthen grassroots NCD prevention and management.
This project will bring together Community Health Promoters, NCD coordinators, and county officials for a stakeholder forum to build capacity, share data, and strengthen local NCD strategies. Using ActioNCD's digital tools and training resources, participants will gain the skills and support needed to improve early detection, education, and follow-up care, creating a coordinated, community-led response to NCDs in rural Kenya.
The project will strengthen Kenya's rural health systems by empowering Community Health Promoters and county officials with tools, training, and digital resources to combat NCDs. Over time, this will lead to earlier diagnosis, better disease management, reduced hospitalizations, and improved quality of life. By fostering collaboration and data-driven action, the initiative will build a scalable model for community-led NCD care across Kenya and other African regions.
