Global Giving Report 5
Winter 2018
kinderhände – children’s hands
With the end of the year 2018 also the kinderhaende semester ended - with a big christmas party for all participants and their families. Together we sang and signed christmas songs, ate cookies, did crafts (christmas tree decoration), signed and played (see pictures 1 and 2). The highlight as every year was the “Bilderbuchkino” where a children’s book was displayed on the wall and read to the kids in German and Austrian sign language. Exciting!
Another tradition at kinderhaende is the performance of the kinderhaende christmas choir. As every year we performed at the christmas market Schloss Schoenbrunn. 50 children from 4 to 14 years sang and signed christmas songs in front of an enthusiastic audience (see picture 3). For the first time, parts of the choir also had a performance at a nearby retirement home. It was a very moving performance for all.
Finally, we were chosen as Zero Project 2019 awardee and are invited to the international Zero Project Conference in Vienna (more information: https://zeroproject.org/2019-awardees).
We wish everybody a happy and healthy 2019! Thank you for your support!
