At Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF), we recognize that for many deaf individuals and persons with disabilities (PWDs), the journey toward stability is often shaped by financial hardship. This project is designed to serve as a bridge—supporting families in their most difficult phase and enabling them to move toward independence.
With the support of generous donors and sponsors, DWAF is providing monthly financial assistance to deserving deaf and PWD families across Pakistan. This support helps cover essential needs such as rent, groceries, medicines, school fees, and utility bills—allowing families to maintain dignity and stability during times of struggle.
However, the true purpose of this initiative goes beyond financial aid. Our goal is not to create dependency, but to empower. Alongside monthly support, we guide beneficiaries toward sustainable livelihoods—helping them start small income-generating activities such as sewing, home-based teaching, or setting up small stalls to earn independently. At the same time, this support enables individuals to continue their education or complete vocational training without interruption.
One powerful example is of a young boy who carries the responsibility of supporting his entire family. His father is blind and his mother is deaf, leaving him as the primary earner. He works long hours at a bookbinding shop, yet his income is barely enough to meet basic household expenses. Due to financial pressure, his education was at risk.
With DWAF’s support, his burden has eased. The monthly assistance has helped his family manage essential expenses, allowing him to continue his studies alongside his work. Today, he is not only supporting his family but also moving forward with hope and determination for a better future.
There are many such stories—families transitioning from uncertainty toward stability, individuals regaining confidence, and young people continuing their education despite the odds.
This project is more than support—it is a pathway. A bridge from struggle to standing, from dependency to dignity, and from hardship to opportunity.
While the impact so far has been meaningful, the need continues to grow. With sustained support, this initiative has the potential to transform many more lives and create lasting change within the deaf and PWD community.
DWAF remains committed to this mission—ensuring that no one is left behind on their journey toward a stable and independent future.
