At Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF), inclusion is not symbolic—it is built through structured skill development, institutional engagement, and sustained support. Through this project, DWAF is transforming the lives of Deaf persons and PWDs by preparing them for real employment and independent living.
DWAF provides comprehensive skills training in Shopify, e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology (IT), and graphic design. These market-relevant programs equip Deaf youth with practical, in-demand skills. Participants are supported in building professional profiles, portfolios, and workplace readiness.
To remove financial barriers, DWAF supports Deaf youth from across Punjab, covering education, meals, and living costs, ensuring equitable access to training opportunities.
Alongside skills development, DWAF actively engages corporates, hospitals, restaurants, universities, and service-sector organizations through inclusion and sensitization sessions. Institutions are guided to hire Deaf professionals as equal employees—valuing ability, dignity, and performance over disability.
To date, more than 500 Deaf youth have been skilled, and over 100 have secured employment in textiles, electronics, hospitality, retail, and digital services. This project demonstrates that when skills, support, and inclusive workplaces come together, Deaf youth move from struggle to stability as confident contributors to society.
